The assam laksa stall located inside the Air Itam Market is known to many as Laksa Bisu. A family-run business started since the 1948; currently managed by a brother-sister duo. The word 'Bisu' means muted, as in the person can't speak nor hear. The stall owner (brother) is muted since birth.
The stall was named bisu so people would understand and use 'hand signs' to place orders.
That doesn't stops him from serving a good bowl of authentic Penang asam laksa that tastes as good as the opposite stall.
In fact, we find this stall serves more consistent and flavourful broth than the famous one just right opposite of Air Itam Market.
On the first sip, you can already taste the generous amount of mackerels used to prepare this broth.
The sweet tangy fish broth comes with fresh vegetables, silky smooth laksa noodle that matches so well with each other.
Along with generous amount of flaked fish meats, a bowl of authentic Penang Assam Laksa here is done and ready to fix anyone's craving.
