Opened exactly two months ago, Coco Island along Gurney Drive has already become the new best hang out spot for the crowds. The food menu includes wide range of seafoods cooked with the Southeast Asian styles.
We're not sure if this place is still operating at the moment.
Besides fresh coconut juice like its name suggest, this place offers a wide range of seafoods based on Southeast Asian Menu (i.e: Malaysian, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thailand cuisines.)
While you'll most likely notice that many of their dishes are prepared with river prawns; there are also varieties of options for seafoods like crabs, mantis prawns, fish, and sea prawns that are cooked into different cuisine.
And if you like gathering with friends over some ice cold beers in the noon, Coco Island is definitely the best place to be on Penang Island.
The business starts from 3pm to 1am with their beers served really ice cold, fresh, and cheap!
The well-known Coffee Island Bak Kut Teh is also operating in this same premise from 7am to 3pm before your happy hour starts.
